| Step 1a |
Select a colorful page from any magazine. Begin cutting triangle shaped strips, about
1/2" at the widest end, or a little longer if you want bigger beads... |
| Step 1b |
... like this. |
| Step 2 |
Paint the inside of the paper strip (not the colorful side) with modge podge. |
| Step 3 |
Beginning at the widest part of the strip, use a toothpick to "roll" the paper strip around. Squared toothpicks work best. |
| Step 4 |
Completely roll up the paper strip until it resembles a bead. Remove it from the toothpick and set it aside to dry (about 5 minutes). |
| Step 5 |
When dried, use elastic (stretch) cord to string your beads. I like to use silver or gold cord, depending on the colors I'm working with. |
| Step 6 |
You can purchase plastic or metallic accent beads to string in-between your paper beads. |
| Step 7 |
Adding accent beads makes a lovely effect! |
