Having grown up in Anaconda, Montana, a smelter town stripped of it's natural beauty, Helen had a desire to use vibrant colors in her work. In school, she always had an interest in art and showed a natural talent.
In New Hampshire, a neighbor asked Helen if she would like to take up art. Money was left to the town to be spent for 'cultural affairs'. Helen took advantage of the opportunity and obtained a years worth of classes for $12. Classes and workshops over the years allowed her to develop a style all her own. This style is readily identifiable by her signature (above) or can be identified by any of her family members.
Do you suspect that you have a painting by this durable Atlanta artist? We would be happy to identify it for you and assess it's value.
Helens' creativity continues to flourish. In addition to traditional mediums, her scope of work includes hand-made paper beads made into necklaces/bracelets; one of a kind tote-bags; Holiday cards; murals; and various household decor items.
